Ganoderma spores are microscopic reproductive particles discharged from the caps of mature Ganoderma lucidum. Serving as the core germ cells of Ganoderma lucidum, spores concentrate the complete active genetic substances and rich nutritional components of the fungus.

Ganoderma spores contain a large proportion of fat-soluble oily substances, known as Ganoderma spore oil, which accounts for about 20% of the total spore weight. 2. Defects of Traditional Extraction Technologies

Ganoderma spore oil is highly sensitive to heat, which limits the application of conventional extraction methods. Most traditional extraction techniques have prominent drawbacks, restricting product quality and industrial production:

Hot pressing: High-temperature processing destroys thermally sensitive active nutrients and core functional components in spore oil, greatly reducing product efficacy.

Pure mechanical pressing: Features an extremely low oil extraction yield, resulting in serious waste of raw materials and poor economic benefits.

Conventional solvent extraction: Involves tedious and complicated operating procedures. In addition, it may cause solvent residue problems and environmental pollution, failing to meet food and pharmaceutical safety standards.

3. Advanced Extraction Technologies for Spore Oil

To overcome the shortcomings of traditional processes, modern industrial production mainly adopts two high-efficiency and high-quality extraction technologies: supercritical CO₂ extraction and subcritical fluid extraction. Both methods can effectively retain the active ingredients of Ganoderma spore oil.
