Introduction

This process uses low temperature ethanol as solvent to extract CBD from hemp. The equipments involved in this process consists of the following parts:

1. Chiller, which is used to cool down ethanol and improve subsequent processing capacity;

2. Extraction unit, where the mixture of the solvent and raw materials is put into and the effective ingredients were dissolved into the solvent;

3. Centrifugal filter, which is used to separate liquid mixture from hemp material residue;

4. Evaporator unit, which is used to heat the crude oil and evaporate the ethanol.

 

The whole process line is simple, the equipment involved is easy to get, with a short designing and manufacturing cycle and a relatively low cost. CBD product yield is between 30% to 60% with this system. Because of these advantages, this process has been widely used in the industrial scale of CBD extraction practice.

 

The flow chart above shows an experimental scale of solvent CBD extraction. In the actual production, we can add a molecular distillation device to increase the concentration, a chromatography column to remove THC. The system can be completely customized according to contents of raw materials, the planned output and other requirements of customers.
